We’re committed to security

We only stream LIVE prices from appropriately regulated payment institutions. Our guiding principle: we never list currency suppliers we wouldn’t use ourselves.

At CurrencyTransfer, securing your data is our highest priority. All data is encrypted with investment banking grade tools and engineering practices. Your funds are safeguarded at a credit institution and held separately to the day-to-day operations of the payment partner’s business accounts.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is there a minimum or maximum transfer amount?

No maximum. We add the most value for transfers of £5,000 GBP equivalent or more. Get started to see a live rate for your amount.

What currencies do you support?

Over 35 currencies, including GBP, EUR, USD, AUD, and CAD. View the full list in your dashboard after signing up, or contact us to ask about a specific currency.

How long does an international money transfer take?

Same-day delivery is possible for most major currencies when funds are sent before the cut-off time. Most transfers arrive within 1–2 business days. Your relationship manager will give you a precise timeline for your specific transfer.

Do you have a mobile app?

Yes — available on iOS and Android. Search 'CurrencyTransfer' in the App Store or Google Play to download and manage transfers on the go.

Can I set a rate alert so I don't miss my target exchange rate?

Yes. Set your target rate in your dashboard and we will monitor the market 24 hours a day and notify you the moment it is reached. You can also set a market order to automatically book the transfer when the rate hits your target.

How does the registration and onboarding work?

Sign up with your email, provide some basic personal details, and upload your identity and address verification documents. Our registration process is designed to take minutes, and you only do it once. Following an onboarding call to discuss requirements, most applications are activated the same day. Once live, you can book transfers 24 hours a day, 5 days a week from your dashboard or mobile app, with a dedicated relationship manager available to help you throughout.

What proof of address do I need to provide?

We require a document that clearly shows your full name, home address, and date of issue — such as a utility bill, bank statement, credit card statement, or council tax bill. It must be dated within the last 3 months, in colour, and uploaded in high resolution. All your data is stored securely in line with our privacy policy.

Can I send funds from a bank account that is not in my name?

Yes, If funds arrive from a differently named account, they are treated as a third-party payment and require compliance approval — which can delay your transfer. If you are sending from a joint account, check that your name appears clearly on the account reference before initiating the payment.

Am I able to cancel or get a refund on my transfer?

Yes. Once you book a transfer, the rate is locked and the currency purchased immediately. If you cannot settle, the deal may need to be reversed and you could be liable for any cost incurred in the process. Please contact your relationship manager as soon as possible if you think you will not be able to fulfil the transfer — the earlier the better.

Is my money safe with CurrencyTransfer?

Yes. All payment partners on our platform are regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority, meaning your funds are safeguarded at a credit institution and held separately from the partner's business operations throughout the transfer.

Is my data safe with CurrencyTransfer?

Yes, your data is encrypted using investment banking-grade tools and practices. We only partner with providers we would use ourselves — and we show you who they are.

How do CurrencyTransfer's rates compare to my bank?

Banks typically mark up exchange rates by up to 3.75% above the mid-market rate, plus flat transfer fees. On a £50,000 transfer, that is potentially £1,875 that does not need to leave your pocket. CurrencyTransfer always shows you the real mid-market rate and your rate side by side, so there are no surprises. Thousands of clients save significant sums each year by making the switch.

Can I lock in today's rate for a future property purchase or large payment?

Yes — and this is one of the most valuable things you can do when buying property abroad. A forward contract lets you fix your exchange rate today for a transfer that takes place up to 12 months in the future. So if you have agreed a purchase price in euros today, you can lock in the current rate and remove the risk of the pound falling before your completion date. It works the same way for overseas tuition fees or any other planned large payment. Speak to your relationship manager to book a forward contract — there is no obligation and in most cases no deposit required.

What is an IBAN number?

An IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is your recipient's bank account number in a standardised international format. Required for most European transfers. Your recipient can find their IBAN through their bank or online banking portal.  Read More

What are SWIFT transfers?

SWIFT is the international network that banks use to send money between countries. When you make an international transfer, it travels via SWIFT.

How do I make SEPA transfers?

SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) transfers send euros within Europe and are typically faster and cheaper than standard SWIFT transfers for European payments. You need the recipient's IBAN & BIC/SWIFT. CurrencyTransfer supports SEPA — speak to your relationship manager for details.

What does FCA Authorised Payment Institution mean?

An FCA Authorised Payment Institution is a company the UK's Financial Conduct Authority has approved to handle payment services. It means your money is protected — held separately from the company's own funds and safeguarded at all times. All of CurrencyTransfer's payment partners are FCA regulated, which is the standard we require before listing any provider on our platform.

What does '0% fees' on money transfers actually mean?

When a provider advertises no transfer fees, it sounds like the service is free — but it is not. The profit is hidden inside the exchange rate itself. They give you a worse rate than the real mid-market rate and keep the difference. On a £20,000 transfer, a 2% rate markup costs you £400 that you never see as a fee. CurrencyTransfer always shows you the real mid-market rate and your rate side by side, so you can see exactly what you are paying. We have nothing to hide — and that transparency is why clients stay with us.
