We’re committed to security

We only stream LIVE prices from FCA regulated payment institutions. Our guiding principle: we never list currency suppliers we wouldn’t use ourselves.

At CurrencyTransfer, securing your funds and your data is our priority. Your funds are appropriately safeguarded, at a credit institution, by our regulated partners. Client funds are separated from the day-to-day business operations of the regulated payment partners, and all your data is encrypted with investment banking grade tools and engineering practices.

Secure with FCA authorised partners

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is there a minimum or maximum transfer amount?

No maximum. We typically add most value for businesses transferring Β£5,000 GBP equivalent or more per transaction; the average on our platform exceeds Β£20,000. Get started to see live rates for your amount.

What business types can use CurrencyTransfer?

All business types: sole traders, limited companies, LLPs, and charities. We work across businesses in various sectors such as; import/export, technology, construction, aviation, travel, online marketplaces, and more. Registration takes minutes.

Can I make same-day international transfers?

Yes β€” same-day transfers are available for most major currency pairs when funds are received before the cut-off time. Contact your relationship manager for the cut-off relevant to your corridor.

Can multiple team members access the business account?

Yes. Business accounts can be configured with multiple users and permissions directly on the app and website. Contact your relationship manager for further assistance if required.

How does the registration and onboarding work for a business account?

Sign up with your email and register your business details. Our multi-supplier registration form is the first of its kind β€” collapsing what would normally take days into minutes. Once you upload compliance documents, we handle activation across our network of FCA regulated partners. Most completed applications are activated the same day. A dedicated relationship manager is assigned from day one.

What bank account details do I need to make an international transfer?

The details required depend on the destination: most countries require IBAN or account number & BIC/SWIFT with some requiring additional information e.g. sort code or routing numbers. Your relationship manager can guide you for any other corridor.

What compliance documents does my business need to provide?

As part of a regulated onboarding process, we require verification of your business and its directors. This typically includes business registration documents, information about the nature of your payments and details of the Ultimate Beneficial Owners (proof of ID and proof of address). All documents are stored securely per our privacy policy. Most businesses are verified same day.

Am I able to cancel or get a refund on a booked transfer?

Yes, however it is important to note that a trade booked on the platform becomes a live position, locked in by the partner; The process of cancelling a trade involves selling the currency back the other way, which can come at a cost if the market has moved since the point of booking.

How much can my business save compared to using a bank?

Banks typically mark up exchange rates by up to 3.75% above the mid-market rate, plus flat transfer fees. On a Β£100,000 transfer, that can mean Β£3,750 or more lost in hidden costs. CurrencyTransfer shows you the real mid-market rate alongside your rate, side by side, with nothing hidden. Many of our clients save tens of thousands each year by switching from their bank.

Can I lock in today's exchange rate for future supplier payments?

Yes. A forward contract lets you fix your exchange rate today, with a deposit, for a transfer due up to 12 months in the future. This removes the uncertainty of rate fluctuations from your budgeting and can help protect your bottom line. Speak to your relationship manager to book a forward contract.

Do you support mass payments to multiple suppliers or recipients?

Yes. Our mass payments feature allows you to send funds to multiple recipients in a single batch β€” saving significant time on payroll runs, supplier payments, or multi-beneficiary disbursements. Speak to your relationship manager to get this set up for your account.

What FX risk management tools do you offer?

Beyond spot transfers, we offer: forward contracts (lock in a rate for up to 12 months), market orders (auto-execute a transfer when your target rate is hit), currency options (protect your downside without committing to a fixed rate or deposit), and MOEX β€” our proprietary AI-assisted trading tool that uses the Relative Strength Index (RSI) to identify the most favourable moments to hedge your exposure. These tools are available in combination, so you can build a strategy that matches your business cycle and risk appetite.

Can I integrate CurrencyTransfer into my existing systems via API?

Yes. Our API Solutions are built for businesses that need to automate FX and payment workflows at scale β€” marketplace sellers processing multi-currency payouts, payroll platforms running international disbursements, or finance teams removing manual steps from their payment process. Contact us to discuss your requirements and how our API can fit into your existing stack.

Why do I need to provide a reason for payment?

Reason for Payment is a regulatory requirement under AML/KYC rules. Your client profile must align with the nature of your transactions. Keeping your profile up to date avoids delays and ensures a smooth payment process.

Can I transfer funds from a business bank account held under a different name?

Third-party payments are subject to compliance approval on a case-by-case basis and may require supporting documentation to avoid delays in releasing funds. If you anticipate this situation, contact your relationship manager before initiating the transfer.

What is an IBAN number?

An IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is a standardised format for identifying overseas bank accounts. It is required for most European transfers and some other corridors. Your recipient's bank can provide their IBAN.  Read More

What does FCA Authorised Payment Institution mean?

An FCA Authorised Payment Institution is a company regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to provide payment services. All payment partners on the CurrencyTransfer platform are FCA regulated, meaning your funds are appropriately safeguarded at a credit institution and held separately from the payment partner's operational accounts throughout the transfer lifecycle. This is the baseline standard we require of every partner on our network.

What are SWIFT transfers?

SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) is the global messaging network used by banks and financial institutions to send and receive international payment instructions. SWIFT is the standard method for cross-border business payments.

What is an MT103 and when do I need it?

An MT103 is a standardised SWIFT payment message that serves as official confirmation an international wire transfer has been sent. Banks, solicitors, and overseas suppliers often request it as proof of payment. Your relationship manager can provide an MT103 for any completed transfer on request β€” typically within the same business day.

Excellent for my business invoice

My startup used CurrencyTransfer.com to send GBP to USD on more than one occasion. The guidance I received from their personal 'Currency Concierge' during setup was spot on, and the amount received at the other end was highly competitive compared to even the newest money transfer providers that I had researched.
